Things to be aware of:

  • There are several unfenced dams and ponds across the gardens. Please keep children under supervision at all times.
  • Snakes are sometimes encountered during spring, summer and autumn, and are a valued part of the natural ecosystem here. All Tasmanian snakes are venomous.
  • Please wear solid shoes while walking the trails, and watch where you put your feet. If a snake is encountered, slowly retreat. Do not hassle the animal, or attempt to remove it.
  • The woodland areas are subject to wind damage, so please keep to open areas if the weather is windy.
  • The trails are formed but uneven. Watch where you put your feet, wear shoes with grip and walk carefully to avoid falling.
  • Dogs are permitted in the main garden area only – always on a leash. Please keep your pets in the car while walking the trails.
  • Keep to designated trails.
  • Do not pick the flowers or take cuttings.
